Minhaz Moosa features in CIPP discussion on the future of payroll
Our founder, Minhaz Moosa MCIPP, has featured again in a CIPP article, sharing his views on the value of payroll expertise and the future of the profession.
In Celebrate and elevate, Minhaz joins a panel of payroll professionals to discuss career achievements, misconceptions about payroll and the opportunities ahead.
More than getting the numbers right
Minhaz reflects on building Intelligent Payroll and the responsibility behind every pay run. His proudest moments include identifying and resolving inherited payroll problems that were affecting employees.
“Getting the calculation right is only part of the job. Sometimes the real value is finding a problem and taking responsibility for fixing it.”

He also highlights the work payroll teams did during furlough, turning rapidly changing guidance into payments that people depended on.
A stronger voice for payroll
Looking ahead, Minhaz sees AI as an opportunity to reduce repetitive work and give professionals more time for decisions that require experience and judgement, supported by proper data controls and human oversight.
His wider message is that payroll should be involved early in decisions about benefits, reward and workforce changes. The profession already has valuable expertise. It needs the opportunity, and the confidence, to use it.
It is an approach we bring to our work at Intelligent Payroll: understanding what the numbers mean for the business and the people being paid.
